The 7th Annual Calabasas Malibu Wine & Food Festival, June 21- June 22, 2013 - Nothing Bundt Cakes

Do one simple thing: do it consistently and do it well. That’s been the recipe for many great successes and Nothing Bundt cakes is no exception.

With nearby locations in Thousand Oaks and West Hills, the bakery makes one simple item: Bundt cakes, of course! And yet the varieties of this dense, delicious treat are so plentiful, you’ll hardly feel limited in your choices. There are classic 8 and 10 inch Bundt cakes, tiered Bundt cakes (one atop the other), individual sized bundtlets, and—for those who can’t choose a flavor, cute bite-size bundtinis, allowing you to sample more than one without too much excess.

“My favorite is Lemon,” says Terre Downey, co-owner of the Southern California locations. “But Red Velvet is the most popular flavor. And then, Chocolate Chocolate Chip.” In fact, the bundt cakes here are regularly available in nine different flavors—from White Chocolate Raspberry to Pecan Praline--plus a rotating special.

Looks matter, too, so Nothing Bundt Cakes not only offers two styles of frosting, but also a number of cute themed decoration kits for any occasion: graduations (school colors? You bet.), weddings, showers, birthdays...

All cakes are made fresh using whole ingredients like eggs, real butter and cream cheese right in the stores, where they will also customize your order on the spot. They ship, and they deliver.

Downey, who shares duties with husband Tom, discovered the original bakery in Las Vegas when visiting their son Justin at University of Nevada Las Vegas. Though the original partners Dena Tripp and Debra Shwetz had no plans to expand, the Downeys loved the product and lobbied to open their Southern California locations nearly six years ago (there are now some 70 Nothing Bundt Cake franchises across the country).

“We love being a part of happy, positive occasions,” says Terre. Who wouldn’t?
